Has auto-enrolment closed the gap?

When the UK gov­ern­ment intro­duced the auto­mat­ic enrol­ment scheme in 2012, pen­sion inequal­i­ties were rife. From gen­der gaps to eth­nic­i­ty gaps, retire­ment for cer­tain seg­ments of the pop­u­la­tion looked bleak. So has auto-enrol­ment real­ly worked and lev­eled the pen­sions play­ing field for all Britons?
